Matthew McConaughey may be starring in The Gentlemen, but that doesn't mean he's playing one in Guy Ritchie's new film.

Formally known as Toff Guys and BushThe Gentlemen follows Mickey Pearson (McConaughey), a ruthless American marijuana kingpin based in London. When news of his departure from the business gets out, a war breaks out for control over the lucrative empire.

The trailer has everything one would expect from a Guy Ritchie film; rapid cuts, fast-talking characters, a balanced dose of humor and action and just enough self-awareness. It also boasts a star-studded cast, including Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim), Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), among others.

This will be Ritchie's first film since Aladdin, which grossed over $1 billion at the box office. However, based on the trailer, this film will fall in line with the tone of Ritchie's prior movies such as Snatch and Sherlock Holmes rather than the live-action Disney remake.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen stars Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant. It will open in theaters on Jan. 24, 2020.
