The official HBO Max Twitter account spent the majority of yesterday informing fans of what they can expect from the forthcoming streaming service, and, as it turns out, Todd Phillips' Joker will be available shortly after, if not immediately when the service launches in 2020.
"It's not all about the heroes, either," HBO Max tweeted. "Todd Phillips' @JokerMovie is shattering box office records, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Don't miss Joker in theaters and it will be available to stream by HBO on HBO Max in 2020."
HBO Max will also include all live-action DC films from the last decade within the first year of launching, as well as every Superman and Batman movie from the last 40 years.
Joker joins several DC properties heading to HBO Max, including Doom Patrol, new teen comedy DC Superhero High and Green Lantern. HBO Max is set to launch in May 2020.
Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais and Shea Whigham. The film is now in theaters.
