Before starring in her own eponymous series on The CW, Ruby Rose's Batwoman made her Arrowverse debut in last season's Arrowverse crossover event "Elseworlds," where Kate Kane was already firmly established as Gotham City's guardian superhero following the mysterious disappearance of Batman and her cousin Bruce Wayne three years prior.
However, according to showrunner and executive producer Caroline Dries, the series has now caught up to these events chronologically with the conclusion of the series' fourth episode.
The series premiere saw Gotham's mayor appoint Kate's father Jacob Kane and his private security firm the Crows to defend the city in the face of rising crime in Batman's absence. Later in the episode, Kate discovered her missing cousin was secretly Batman and joined forces with Bruce's old friend and confidante Luke Fox to repurpose his old costume to create the mantle of Batwoman.
Since then, Kate has faced off against several of Batman's old enemies while contending with the rise of Alice and her fearsome Wonderland Gang terrorizing the city.
Helmed by Caroline Dries and developed by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
