A new trailer for the TV rendition of Snowpiercer sets the stage for the TNT thriller with an animated twist.
The new teaser tells the story of the world of Snowpiercer and how it becomes a frozen landscape, opening with a shot of a single flower along train tracks as the narration begins.
As the narration concludes, the animation changes to live-action and the trailer cuts off rather abruptly. Fans will have to wait until 2020 to see how the story pans out.
First the weather changed. The deniers knew why but they still doomed us with their lies. War made the Earth even hotter. Her ice melted and her species crashed. So the men of science tried to cool the Earth to reverse the damage they had sown. But instead, they froze her to the core. Only the visionary Mr. Wilford foresaw the future, and he prepared a great ark train. In the final days of the freeze, rich, many of them responsible, retreated to Snowpiercer, 1001 cars long. So we the people, the survivors left behind, we invaded their train.
Snowpiercer is being developed for television by Josh Friedman with Bong Joon-Ho serving as an executive producer, while Graeme Manson serves as showrunner. The series stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Jaylin Fletcher.
