Mortal Kombat 11's Kombat Pass has been fully detailed, revealing six characters coming to the game. Two are already out, Shang Tsung and Nightwolf, with Sindel, The Terminator, The Joker and Spawn on the way.
The announcement appears to confirm that a leak from around four months ago was correct. The leak also listed three other characters that could be coming to the game, seeming to suggest that a second Kombat Pass is planned as well.
Assuming that it would be the same size as the first Kombat Pass, then that would mean that there are three characters unknown, even to the leak. So, CBR is here to put forward three characters that should be included in Mortal Kombat 11 via the second Kombat Pass.
Here are some basic rules to be mindful of before we get started: We are going to assume that the leak was correct. That means we are assuming that the first three characters being added in this hypothetical Kombat Pass 2 are Sheeva, Fujin, and Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise.
Second, we are going to ignore Cyrax and Sektor. They are in the story mode and you fight against them. However, they don't seem to be fully fleshed out and much of their moves are from MK 2011. We would love to see them return but for the purposes of this article, we're going to skip them as their story and fighting style have already been made and just simply need to be finished to be included in the game.
All right! With that said, here's three kombatants that need to be in Mortal Kombat 11.
Takeda was a fan favorite in Mortal Kombat X and arguably the most liked of the Mortal Kombat Kids. So many fans were shocked when Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs returned from MKX and not Takeda.
As he's already mentioned several times in Mortal Kombat 11, why not make it official and formerly add him to the roster? From character interactions, a few of the endings and some lore bits explained in Krypt, we can piece together some backstory for Takeda.
After the events of Mortal Kombat X, Takeda requested the Special Forces be allowed to infiltrate the Red Dragon. The Red Dragon are rivals of the Black Dragon and are responsible for killing Takeda's mother/Kenshi's wife. With assistance from his father Kenshi, they went out on their mission.
However, we know from the Mortal Kombat X comic book that the Red Dragon leader Daegon has gained the assistance of Goro. The mission must have gone south as Goro has brought Kenshi to Daegon. If the Krypt is anything to go by, the mission was unsuccessful with both Goro and Kenshi having perished.
Since then, Takeda has gone AWOL from the Special Forces. However, only Cassie and Jacqui, Takeda's fianceé, know about it. He has been training on his own so he can challenge Daegon to a rematch of sorts. His desire to avenge not only his mother but his father, being his sole purpose.
Takeda would play much like his MKX version but with two of his variations mixed together. This would allow him to utilize both his light swords and his whips, making him a mid-screen fighter. He would have his cyber ninja aesthetic but with more of an edge in order to express his more jaded point of view.
Tanya was never a character that was anyone's favorite but she became more intriguing after her inclusion in Mortal Kombat X. Considering how much Jacqui was revamped in MK11, we would love to see what could be done with Tanya.
After the events of MKX, Tanya was left to rot in an Outworld jail after Mileena was killed and she gave up Rain to save herself from a death sentence. After the defeat of Shao Khan and Kitana was made the new Khan of Outworld, she made her escape. She now serves Kitana under Jade, having been promised that Edenia will be restored. As a servant, she has been given one mission: find and bring Skarlet to justice.

Her fighting style should be expanded upon from what her previous appearance showed. Lots of nimble movements and quick attacks that incorporate her tonfas as well as her boomerang, which she shares with Jade. MKX introduced the ability for Tanya to teleport and Kitana has now gained that ability in MK11. Therefore, we would like to see that ability explored with Tanya since she was the one who introduced the concept.
Considering that three of the six characters in the Kombat Pass were guest characters and NetherRealm has access to DC characters, we think an obvious choice would be the troubled former Robin, Jason Todd, aka Red Hood. Now, being that he would just be a guest character, he doesn't need a story. However, it would be more interesting if there were one.
When Kronika's manipulation with time transports a young Joker into the Mortal Kombat dimension it could also have transported an older Jason Todd, who has already taken up the Red Hood mantle. Deducing that he is in an alternate dimension and sees that a younger version of the Joker is here, he resolves to try to kill the Joker and prevent his younger self from being murdered at his hands.
His fighting style could be similar to how he plays in Injustice 2 but incorporating some of the hand-to-hand combat from Batman. He could have some of his combos, just so he isn't just a gun character or a copy of Erron Black. There should be a focus on trick shots as well as other weapons. Red Hood is trained in many disciplines and is an expert with many weapons so his move set should reflect that.
