Despite breaking box-office records and winning over audiences and critics alike, Avengers: Endgame does have a distinct lack of Tommy Wiseau and references to his independent movie, The Room.
Thankfully, YouTube channel schmoyoho has remedied this, showing the world what both In Infinity War and Endgame would have been like if The Room stars Wiseau and Greg Sestero were not only a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but present for the events of what they might have called Avengers: Friend Game.
Splicing footage of Wiseau and Sestero -- who play Johnny and Mark in The Room, respectively -- into scenes from the Russo Brothers’ blockbuster, schmoyoho have also made the creative decision to present their adventures in the form of a song.
Starting with a scene with Nick Fury approaching Wiseau in Times Square, The Room actor finds himself recruited into the Avengers Initiative. Thanos is then mocked by Greg, who tells him that what he possesses isn’t the real Time Stone as “Doctor Strange got it from a cereal box” before throwing out the challenge that he will now have to defeat “the real Avengers, not the JV squad.”
The video then turns into a music video with lyrics inspired and taken from Wiseau’s cult classic, including references to his unique chicken noises, the fact Lisa is tearing him apart, and that Mark is Johnny’s best friend in the movie.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is now available on Digital HD and arrives on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on Aug. 13.
