"Today is the first day of production for the first episode of television I will ever direct," Lotz wrote. "Can't even begin to express my gratitude to Phil [Klemmer] and the Legends writers, Greg Berlatine, CW and Warner Brothers for this opportunity. Now let's go do this!"

Lotz has been a member of The CW's DC TV family since 2013, when she boarded the second season of Arrow as Sara Lance/The Canary/White Canary. In 2016, she brought the character over to Legends of Tomorrow and has starred as one of the series' leading heroes ever since. Additionally, Lotz has made guest appearances in both The Flash and Supergirl.
