Swamp Thing Showrunner Teases Finale's Must-See Post-Credits Scene

This Friday marks the 10th and final episode of DC Universe's ill-fated Swamp Thing. However, executive producer Mark Verheiden is teasing something big after the credits roll.

"Dropping this Friday -- the final episode of #SwampThing 2019," Verheiden tweeted. "Expect some resolution, some strangeness, maybe even some tears. And whatever you do, STICK AROUND after the credits for... well, you'll just have to see!"

While Verheiden's message is intentionally vague, one can't help but wonder if this is a sign of hope for a series that's seemingly been doomed from the start. In April, nearly two months before its premiere, Swamp Thing's 13 episode order was suddenly cut down to 10. Then, the series was abruptly canceled after the debut of the first episode, despite positive critical reception. And to make matters even more troubling for hardcore DC fans, the series was reportedly heading on a three-season arc that would have culminated with a Justice League Dark team-up.

Now streaming on DC Universe, Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott and Kevin Durand. The final episode premieres Friday, August 2.
