Advertisemen

Marvel Comics and Hasbro Toys have been releasing wave after wave of amazingly detailed action figures based on popular (and not so popular) Marvel characters. These figures can come in a variety of forms, from multi-figure packs to vehicles and even recreations of comic scenes.

Considering the huge roster of characters the X-Men have included in their ranks, plus all of their villains, and not to mention the alternate reality/timeline versions of those same characters, Marvel Legends have released a lot of X-Men characters over the years. Today we are going to take a look at a few of the best X-Men figures and collections from Marvel Legends.

10 ALL-NEW WOLVERINE

Amazon

X-23 actually first appeared on the animated series X-Men: Evolution before transitioning to the comics, where her name was revealed to be Laura Kinney. Laura is the female clone of Wolverine, though her origins were recently changed so that she was genetically closer to Logan's daughter than his clone.

When Logan died, Laura took up his mantle to become the All-New Wolverine, and while her costume eventually reverted to the greys and blacks she wore as a member of X-Force, her original appearance as the new Wolvie featured the classic blue and yellow color scheme. The Marvel Legends figure perfectly captures this brief period in Wolverine's legacy.

9 NIGHTCRAWLER

Amazon

Kurt Wagner is many things to his mutant teammates, from a friend, priest, fighter, or family member, but really, Nightcrawler is the heart of the X-Men. So as any collection would feel empty without the fuzzy elf, Marvel Legends has released a great figure that captures the many sides of Nightcrawler.

Kurt's always been a swashbuckler type of character, and years of pirate scenarios in the Danger Room have led Kurt to adopt a sword on the battlefield as well. The Marvel Legends figure comes with additional head sculpts that allow for a full range of customization.

8 RETRO STORM

Amazon

Also known as Mohawk/Punk/Rebel Storm, this Marvel Legends figure captures Ororo Munroe at a time in her life when she had lost her mutant abilities and was forced to take on a harder edge, influenced by Wolverine's ninja ally Yukio.

Her iconic mohawk hairstyle was representative of this new direction in her life, though it has made a comeback in recent years due to the popularity of the hairstyle. The lightning accessories are in two pieces and allow for a number of different power options which only add to the appeal of the figure.

7 MAGNETO FAMILY

Amazon

Magneto has been a part of the X-Men's lives since the beginning, and it's only fitting he's joined by his children Pietro/Quicksilver and Wanda/Scarlet Witch. Sure, they haven't ever had the best relationship and they aren't even technically related in the current comic continuity, but we still like seeing the House of M (mostly) all together again.

The three-pack collection features all three figures in their classic costumes, with multiple accessories including different hands for Quicksilver to simulate running, as well as energy effects for both Magneto and Scarlet Witch. Magneto even comes with multiple head sculpts to go from loving father to maniacal mastermind in seconds.

6 COLOSSUS AND JUGGERNAUT

Amazon

Colossus and the Juggernaut have fought each other quite a few times over the years as the resident strongmen of the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, respectively. And while Juggy isn't actually a mutant, his familial relationship to Professor X means he was a constant thorn in the X-Men's side.

Both figures come together in this collection with features alternate hand options for both Colossus and Juggernaut. Juggy even comes with an alternate unmasked Cain Mark head that pairs with a battle-damaged helmet to show the effects of this epic battle.

5 GAMBIT

Amazon

Ever since his first appearances with the X-Men, Gambit has been one of the most popular X-Men, though his affiliation with the team over the years has been inconsistent and riddled with controversy. Gambit has even switched sides when he was corrupted by Apocalypse and turned into his Horseman, Death.

Thankfully the Marvel Legends figure has focused on his most heroic version and has perfectly replicated his abilities with a couple of kinetically charged card accessories and his trusty bo staff. This Build-A-Figure wave featured a number of great X-Men figures, but Gambit was the standout.

4 CABLE

Amazon

The man who would come to be known as Cable is actually Nathan Charles Christopher Dayspring Askani'Son Summers, whose name alone reveals his confusing history as a time-traveling mutant hero. Cable has worked with the X-Men, created the team known as X-Force, and even appeared on the big screen with his BFF in Deadpool 2.

Marvel Legends have released a few Cable figures over the years, but we're partial to this figure which replicates his earliest look that was also used for his animated appearance. Not only does Cable come with the required oversized gun, but the energy effect on his eye and attention to detail overall makes this figure a must-have for any fan of the militaristic mutant.

3 MISTER SINISTER

Amazon

"Psst! It's me! The Sinister with the mutant gene," and as he recently revealed in the pages of Powers of X, his mutant power is being absolutely fabulous. Marvel Legends already knew that and sculpted this fabulous figure based on Marvel's mad mutant geneticist.

Mister Sinister has studied the mutant gene for a century and is a master of cloning technology, which has allowed him to create an army of Sinisters. The highlight of this figure is the incredible tattered cape and the sneering grin that perfectly captures the menace of Mister Sinister.

2 WOLVERINE, CYCLOPS, JEAN GREY

Amazon

This three-pack from Marvel Legends features the original love triangle of the X-Men, Wolverine, Jean Grey, and Cyclops. These three characters have a lot of history between them, but also a lot of respect, and have all gone on to become great leaders to the X-Men.

This collection features a number of accessories including alternate heads for each character that features a different hairstyle for Jean, both a non-battle-damaged and unmasked head for Logan, and an alternate head with shades along with a costume visor head for Scott. Wolverine even has the option of bone claws or classic adamantium claws.

1 DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Amazon

One of the most iconic storylines in the X-Men mythology was "Days of Future Past" which only ran for two issues, but left a legacy that even led to a film adaptation in 2014. "Days of Future Past" takes place in a future world taken over by Sentinels, where the last surviving members of the X-Men hatch a plan to try and change things in the past.

Marvel Legends has released an amazing 16" Sentinel and matching Logan figure that recreates the final battle between Logan and the mutant-hunting robot, and it doesn't go well for Logan. This really is one of the best X-Men options available from Marvel Legends for any collector.
