Star Wars: Resistance Reborn, a prequel novel bridging the gap between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, reveals the history between two of the franchise's greatest pilots: Poe Dameron and Wedge Antilles.
In an excerpt from the Rebecca Roanhorse-penned novel released on StarWars.com, Antilles reveals Poe once studied under the X-wing ace who helped the Rebel Alliance defeat the Galactic Empire.
"How is Poe?" Wedge asked. "He was one of my best students. Besides you, of course," he added hastily for Snap’s sake.
Resistance Reborn is a pivotal prequel to The Rise of Skywalker, focusing on what's left of the Resistance as they battle to survive and overcome the First Order.
A hero of battles on Endor and Hoth, Antilles was portrayed in the original trilogy by Denis Lawson. The character also appeared in an episode of Star Wars Rebels and the Aftermath book series, and can be spotted standing behind Finn on the new cover.
Star Wars: Resistance Reborn, by Rebecca Roanhorse, goes on sale Nov. 5.
