Ever since the undoing of Peter Parker and Mary Jane's marriage, the character of Spider-Man has been stuck in a bit of a limbo. We got to see Peter Parker go from high school to college to eventually married man. The natural progression of the character should have seen him become a parent before too long.

Unfortunately, the editors at Marvel didn't want to age Spidey too much, otherwise, he might lose some mainstream appeal. So, the marriage was broken and ever since Spider-Man has had many off-and-on relationships as a young bachelor. There are several alternate universe stories where we do get to see Peter grow into the role of a father. What makes these stories infinitely interesting is seeing how Spider-Man's children turned out.

Here are all of Spider-Man's children from alternate universes, ranked.

10 Ben Parker (J.J. & Henry Abrams' Spider-Man)

In the brand new Spider-Man series from J.J. and Henry Abrams, Spider-Man has retired from his crimefighting career. After a mysterious new villain named Cadaverous kills Mary Jane Parker, Peter is forced to raise his son Ben alone.

Throughout the first issue of the series, Ben slowly comes to grips with the fact that he has inherited spider-powers. By the end of the issue, with a little push by his great-aunt May, Ben finds out that his father was Spider-Man. In the next few issues, it is likely he will take up the mantle himself.

9 Richie Parker (House of M)

During House of M, Scarlet Witch had created an alternate reality where mutants ruled over humans. In this new world, Peter Parker had convinced the public that he was actually a mutant. Becoming an extremely popular celebrity, Spider-Man married the love of his life, Gwen Stacy.

The two lovers then had a son named Richie, after Peter's father Richard. Upon learning that this reality was actually fake, Peter became devastated. Losing his new family felt like having his heart torn out, and the wall-crawler was eager for revenge.

8 Tanya Parker (Old Man Logan)

In the twisted alternate reality of Old Man Logan, most of the world's superheroes, including Spider-Man, have been killed. Before his death, however, Peter Parker had several children including his daughter Tanya Parker.

Tanya went on to marry the much older Hawkeye. After having a daughter, Ashley Barton, he two divorced. Tanya then became an auto-mechanic and befriended the benevolent Ultron Eight.

7 Ashley Barton (Old Man Logan)

Peter Parker's grandchild in the Old Man Logan universe, Ashley Barton, would go on to become Spider-Girl. Ashley formed a team of superheroes in hopes of overthrowing the Kingpin. The team failed, and Ashley was taken to be executed.

After her father, Hawkeye, saved Ashley, she brutally murdered Kingpin and then tried to do the same to her own father. Years later she would give up this grudge. Then, as Spider-Girl, she decided to take up her grandfather's ways and become a hero.

6 Benjy Parker (MC2)

Marvel's MC2 universe shows the events of the Clone Saga going a little bit differently. Instead of having a miscarriage, Mary Jane gives birth to her and Peter's first child, Mayday Parker. While Mayday has yet to appear on this list, the two also had a second child named Benjy.

Benjy, unlike the other children on this list, began to display superhuman powers while still an infant. While this has caused many comedic moments for the family, it also comes with many challenges as well. One thing is for sure, Benjy will likely grow up to become a great superhero.

5 Claire Parker (Life Story)

In the universe of Spider-Man: Life Story, Peter and Mary Jane have two children. Claire Parker is one of them, and she proves to be quite the successor to Peter. Clearly a very independent spirit, May has everything it takes to be a superhero.

Peter marvels at how mature Claire is at such a young age, comparing her to his younger self, who had much more to learn. By the last issue of Spider-Man: Life Story, Claire had become Spider-Woman and joined the fight against Doctor Doom's forces.

4 Benjy Parker (Life Story)

Peter and Mary Jane's other child in Spider-Man: Life Story, Benjy, proves to be incredibly heroic. When an older, retired Peter travels to New York in hopes of protecting his family, they are attacked by the energy vampire Morlun.

During the fight between Morlun and the two Spidey-children, Benjy realizes that Morlun is vulnerable while feeding on his victims. In a sacrificial act, Benjy allows Morlun to begin feeding on him, leaving the villain vulnerable for Claire to deliver a fatal blow. Benjy survives but is left crippled.

3 May Parker (Earth X)

A futuristic, dystopian Marvel universe, Earth X shows a Peter Parker that hasn't had it so good. Sometime after the death of his wife Mary Jane, Peter's daughter, May Parker is bonded with the Venom symbiote.

Instead of Spider-Girl, this version of May becomes Venom. Her enthusiastic bonding to the symbiote creates a rift between May and her father, who believes that May is being influenced by the alien. Eventually, the two reconciled after both joined the NYPD which was in desperate need of superhuman officers.

2 Annie May Parker (Renew Your Vows)

In the Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows reality, Peter and Mary Jane form a crimefighting team with their daughter Annie May Parker. Annie May, going by the name Spiderling, proves to be an extremely effective member of the team.

In addition to the many powers she inherited from her father, Annie May has one unique ability. Her spider-sense is advanced to the point where Annie May can actually see visions of incoming dangers that will come in the future.

1 Mayday Parker (MC2)

Mayday Parker of the MC2 universe is the original child of Spider-Man. Debuting in her very own Spider-Girl series, Mayday gave us a new look at the Spider-Man story from the perspective of a young woman.

Just like Peter, Mayday has to balance her double life as a high school student and superhero. Hoping to live up to the legacy of her father, Spider-Girl defends New York and fights many powerful supervillains.
