At D23 Expo, Disney commemorated the heroics of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man with a new poster.
The poster features Stark’s notable scenes across his many appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Front and center, Tony wears the Stark Gauntlet that would turn the tide and help the Avengers defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. On the right side, Thanos turns to dust.
Endgame's now-iconic line “We love you 3000” is scrawled along the bottom. This same message has become emblematic of the film and has been used by Marvel Studios and fans alike in remembrance of the character.
In Endgame, Stark sacrificed his life to save the universe. He wielded the Infinity Stones to undo Thanos' Snap from Infinity War, which was too much for his body to handle. He died surrounded by the MCU characters who had become his family.
With the MCU growing thanks to Disney+, Marvel Studios' upcoming slate is full of titles like Black Widow, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Gins, WandaVision, Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, What If…?, Hawkeye, Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther 2.
