Hulu's acclaimed anthology series Castle Rock, inspired by the works of Stephen King, has officially announced its Season 2 premiere date.

The horror series will return for its ten-episode second season on Oct. 23, just in time for Halloween, with an all-new cast portraying characters from King's extensive library of novels and short stories.

Season 2 has cultural and racial tensions mount when a Somalian family moves into the eponymous coastal town, worsened by the arrival of Annie Wilkes, the infamously deranged villain of King's classic novel Misery; Wilkes will be portrayed by Lizzy Caplan.

Executive produced by J.J. Abrams and King himself, Castle Rock premiered on Hulu in July 2018 and was renewed for a second season in the midst of its first ten-episode run. Principal photography for the second season took place earlier this year throughout Massachusetts. The series focuses on the fictional Maine town of Castle Rock, populated by classic King characters, interacting with one another in the eerie coastal setting.
