It's official: Cloak & Dagger will cross over with Runaways in the Hulu show's upcoming third season.
“It’s so fun being able to do something that revels in the Mighty Marvel Manner! Having these young heroes crossover allows fans of both shows to see the adventure everyone has been waiting for and we’ve only hinted at,” Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said in a statement.
In the video announcement, Karolina actor Virginia Gardner teased, "This season we're going to be facing some of our toughest challenges ever."
"And we need some help," added Ariela Barer, who plays Gert.
At that, the camera pulled back to reveal Cloak & Dagger stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph, who play Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson respectively. "Road trip to Los Angeles!" Joseph said.
"Season 3 of Marvel's Runaways will feature a crossover episode with the lovely stars of Marvel's Cloak & Dagger," Nico actor Lyrica Okano confirmed.
Cloak & Dagger Season 2 ended as Tandy and Tyrone boarded a bus, with plans to set off across the country to help other people in need. However, the finale never revealed where they were headed. Thanks to this announcement, now we know they'll end up in Los Angeles and bump into the Runaways.
According to the official description of Runaways Season 3,
The Runaways frantically search for their captured friends Chase Stein, Gert Yorkes, and Karolina Dean. The kids go head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie — or more accurately, the child she’s carrying. Nico Minoru draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay, played by Elizabeth Hurley, is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face.
Marvel’s Runaways stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Angel Parker, Ryan Sans, Annie Wersching, Kip Pardue, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Brigid Brannagh, Kevin Weisman, Brittany Ishibashi and James Yaegashi. The series returns for its third season on Dec. 13, with all 10 episodes of the season released simultaneously. Cloak & Dagger has not yet been renewed for a third season.
