Writer Tom King and artist Clay Mann's Batman/Catwoman will seemingly return, at least briefly, to one of DC's classic stories: Batman: Year One.
Mann shared an image showing Selina Kyle as she appears Batman: Year One, indicating the book will take a look at the early years of Bruce Wayne and Catwoman's relationship. Mann's comment says the drawing is a work-in-progress.
Batman/Catwoman will feature the return of King to the title relationship after his final issue of the main title later this year, with the events spinning off into his and Mann's 12-issue Batman/Catwoman. Batman and Catwoman's relationship has been a major focus of King's run, with the latter leaving the former at the altar. However, she recently returned to nurse him back to health after a disastrous encounter with the Flashpoint Batman, Thomas Wayne.
Written by Frank Miller and illustrated by David Mazzucchelli, Batman: Year One is often considered one of the greatest stories ever told about the Caped Crusader. The 1987 storyline ran from Batman #404 until #407 and focused on a young Bruce Wayne fighting crime. Catwoman appears prominently in the book.
Batman/Catwoman #1, by Tom King and Clay Mann, arrives in January 2020 from DC.
