Game show icon Alex Trebek is set to make his return to Jeopardy! after finishing treatment for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
A video posted to the official Jeopardy! Twitter account features a healthy-looking Trebek on the set for the show's upcoming 36th season, which premieres in September. "I've gone through a lot of chemotherapy and thankfully that is over now," Trebek says in the clip. "I'm on the mend and that's all I can hope for right now."
Showing that cancer did not take his sense of humor, Trebek also joked about who should play him in a biopic, declaring Betty White to be the perfect candidate.
He concludes, "We have some exciting things coming up and I can’t wait to share them with you all. Let me tell you, it’s gonna be a good year."
The game show host announced his cancer diagnosis in March. He vowed to beat the disease in a video on Jeopardy's official YouTube channel. With the survival rate of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer being 9%, Trebek's completion of chemotherapy and Jeopardy return bode well for his health.
Hosted by Alex Trebek, Jeopardy! returns for Season 36 on Sept. 9.
