Spider-Man: Homecoming writers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are in talks to direct Paramount Pictures and Hasbro's upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie.
Deadline reports talks are moving quickly between Goldstein, Daley and the studios, with more information to come.
Aside from co-writing Spider-Man: Homecoming, Goldstein and Daley directed Game Night for Warner Bros.' New Line studio. Game Night is a 2018 dark comedy starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams and centers around a group of individuals who get together for a game night, which incidentally falls on the same night as a kidnapping. They're left to wonder if the kidnapping is an isolated incident, or part of the larger game.
The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay was previously reported to be in the running to direct Dungeons & Dragons.
Announced in December 2017 among Hasbro's slate of upcoming films, Dungeons & Dragons will be one of the first projects for the newly created AllSpark Pictures production banner, formed by the toymaker to develop films based on its properties.
Dungeons & Dragons is slated for release on July 23, 2021. The film is written by Michael Gillio, with Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis serving as producers.
