WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Episode 121 of Dragon Ball Super, "All-Out War! The Ultimate Quadruple Merge vs Universe 7's Full-Scale Attack!!" which debuted Saturday on Adult Swim.

The Tournament of Power, the climactic martial arts competition involving the different realities of the Dragon Ball Multiverse, finally enters its final stages in the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super. By the episode's end, only two universes remain in the escalating contest of champions, as Universe 3's final fighter is eliminated, triggering its erasure from existence by the omnipotent Grand Zeno. However, the defeat of this rival universe comes at the expense of Universe 7 losing one of its fan-favorite fighters.

Picking up from the previous episode's cliffhanger, Paparoni and his composite robot Koichiarator are undeterred after nearly being eliminated from the tournament by Gohan. Instead, Paparoni and his robot fuse together to form the fighter Anilaza. Fusion has played a critical role throughout the Tournament of Power since Grand Zeno altered the competition rules after Kale and Caulifa from Universe 6 used Potara earrings to fuse into the powerful Saiyan warrior Kefla, narrowly defeating Goku even as he fought at his newfound Ultra Instinct transformation.

With Anilaza's fusion complete, the combined might of the remaining six fighters from Universe 7 proved to be seemingly unable to faze the merged champion from Universe 3. In his new form, Anilaza is able to pinpoint his opponents' movements through sonar and echolocation, allowing him to mount a defense against Universe 7's coordinated attacks. And, using the advanced technology from Koichiarator, Anilaza is able to teleport his blows throughout the battlefield to catch his opponents off-guard, nearly knocking Goku out of the arena before he is rescued at the last minute by Frieza.

Realizing that the Z Fighters will constantly support each other in battle to prevent their individual eliminations, Anilaza begins to single them out with his attacks in an effort to drive them from the arena. Just as Android 17 is nearly eliminated, his twin sibling Android 18 sacrifices herself to keep her brother in the fight. With only five fighters remaining from Universe 7, the team powers up and engages Anilaza in a mass-energy duel as Android 17 damages the cybernetic warrior's power source to significantly weaken him.

The combined power of Universe 7's final five fighters overwhelms Anilaza resulting in his elimination, ending Universe 3's participation in the tournament. Just as with the other universes before it, Universe 3 is promptly obliterated by Grand Zeno bringing the number of surviving realities in the Dragon Ball Multiverse to two, with Universe 11 as the sole remaining competition against Universe 7.

With only Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Frieza and Android 17 remaining, Universe 7 faces Universe 11's Top, Dyspo and Jiren. Jiren, in particular had been a formidable opponent and was regarded by the gods observing the competition as the strongest fighter. As Goku was unable to defeat Jiren even while using his Ultra Instinct form or his fully powered Spirit Bomb, the Universe 11 champion is easily the most powerful opponent Dragon Ball's longtime protagonist has ever faced. And now with another member of their team down, the combined efforts of Universe 7 may not be enough to stop Jiren from triumphing in the Tournament of Power, putting Universe 7's very existence at stake.

Newly dubbed episodes of Dragon Ball Super air on Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim.
