As the film is finally out on digital, most of Avengers: Endgame's bonus content is making the rounds online, including deleted scenes from the three hour-long film. While some scenes, including one showing the universe's heroes kneeling, hit the web prior to the film's digital release. Other deleted scenes aren't as emotional -- in fact, some of them are downright hilarious. One of the deleted scenes even pokes fun at a plot hole from Captain America: The First Avenger.

The Endgame deleted scene in question is meant to take place during the sequence where the Avengers try and pinpoint the best moments in history to pluck the Infinity Stones out of the time stream. Inside one of the Avengers compound briefing rooms, Steve Rogers and James "Rhodey" Rhodes are looking at an image of the Tesseract. After Rhodey asks what happened to it, Steve explains that it hit the bottom of the ocean after it fell out of the Red Skull's plane -- the plane he had to crash in order to save millions of lives.

And this is where Rhodey pokes fun at Steve's sacrifice. "And you couldn't have jumped out of the plane before you crashed it?" Steve is hit with stunned silence, and it's obvious that the scene was meant to be played for laughs in a sequence that was already filled with plenty of humor. There's no doubt that, had this scene found itself in the film's final cut, it would have led to a big laugh from the audience, because it addresses something that many might have wondered when watching and re-watching Captain America: The First Avenger.

In the 2011 film, Rogers saw no other option than to crash the Red Skull's Hydra plane. The heroic moment led to Steve's apparent death in the ice, and his inevitable return to the present day. But Rhodey makes a valid point: Why didn't Captain America jump out of the plane before it hit the ice? After all, we've seen him survive jumps from incredibly high altitudes -- he even jumped out of a S.H.I.E.L.D. plane without a parachute once.

Sure, in the heat of the moment, perhaps Steve simply didn't have time to think about his options -- especially since he was busy saying goodbye to the love of his life. It seems like he never even once considered jumping out of the plane until just now.
